These are the remake posters which I did, I changed the background, and added text.
I think the background suits this poster much more.
I like this sun idea with the the title in there aswell.
This was the the theme of the one of the movies that Laurel and Hardy were in.

Marrionettes inc. Narrative Project
I like the way the character glows in this poster.
Format like a book cover
This is the poster i was least happy with, i found that it was not creative enough concept.

Guerilla Warrior
This was a drawing inspired by something I saw on the internet, I aimed to capture the fierceness of the Primate, and show something different, i really like how the charcoal helped me out with the depth of the image, I did this drawing in about an hour with charcoal, fine liners and pencil. I like the result of this piece

Tommy Chong, from Cheech and Chong
Just a drawing I did of Tommy Chong after watching the epic "Cheech and Chong" up in smoke stoner film. This is a drawing of him when he is older, hence the wrinkles, i thought it worked well with the orange, its quite a pop art style, in general im pleased with the image! obviously the photoshop work is not perfect, but it does the job. more to come!

Romeo and Juliet
This was an assingment, to make 2 Romeo and Juliet Poster, promoting the play.
They have been scaled to real posters which you would find in the London Underground,
I like how this poster communicates the message of physical separation between the two halves of the faces, and the result, death, shown by the skull. I like the colour choice in this poster above.
This is a more bolder and simpler message, simply 2 skulls attached by the jaw bone, representing Romeo and Juliet, and how they died together in the end of the play due to their love.
MORE TO COME! stay tuned...

Charlie Chaplin Final Poster
This was my Manhattan Mono, Charlie Chaplin edition movie poster.
I really like the expression in his face, a very sneaky, almost childish look, the drawing was again done with fineliner, and then scanned, and shaded in with the graphics pad fully. Again I like how the shadows are created, it is like using watercolours, overlapping the line can change alot.

Laurel and Hardy Final Piece
This was the final piece for the Manhattan Mono movie poster, Laurel and Hardy edition,
I did both the faces with indian ink, changed with the levels on photoshop, and added a few shadows with the graphics pad. However Laurel, should be much skinnier and smaller compared to Hardy, so this piece will have to be revisited, more to come soon!

Harold Lloyd Final Poster
This was the final poster for Harold Lloyd, I like the shocked look I managed to capture in his face,
the drawing was outlined with fineliners, scanned, and shaded in with the WACOM graphics tablet.
I really appreciate the different types of textures that I can achieve with the tablet.

Buster Keaton Finals, and Hardy
This image was the final image I used for my Manhattan Mono posters, for Buster Keaton, I felt his face really resembled the sad/bluesy look that he has. However if I dont feel it works so well with the background, due to this, i will reattempt this project.
Final poster version 1, i dont like the text, or the smoke so much either.
Final Poster version 2, the cleaner text works better.
An ink drawing of Oliver Hardy which I am really pleased with, I feel his expression is perfect in capturing his smile, and I also like the imperfections that are achieved through the use of inks.

Manhattan Mono, more trials
I like the Rock and Roll vibe this gives off, but probably not best for this style of movie poster project.
More Graphics Pad Trials
This is my trials for Buster Keaton.
Once again, with the use of the WACOM graphics pad, i experimented some more, seeing the different atmospheres and feelings, with the change in line thickness and positive and negative space.
Charlie Chaplin Tramp style.
Peeking over manhattan
Big head Keaton.

Manhattan Mono: Graphics Pad Oliver Hardy trials
These next four images are all trials which I have executed on the graphics pad, as I am a beginner with this new medium, my images may look rough, however I feel for a few, the persona of Oliver Hardy is well captured.
I feel this looked like a image from a post stamp or a coin graphic.
A bit too much like a farmer, need to decrease the size of his hat.
I like his gazed/silly look he has in this image, I feel his size is captured well with the linework.

More Buddhas, and Shrine texture
This is just a photoshop trial, I scanned a pencil drawing and filled it in with photoshop CS3.
I used Adobe illustrator for this trial, using line trace, which as you can see, gives a very "Illustrator" look to the image. However i like the boldness and choice of color. The smiling faces, are Buddhist elements taken from a pattern of a famous buddhist illustration.
This Face in the center, is a representation of the Lord of Death " Yama" in the Buddhist religion. I like how the background (which was influenced by typical Buddhist patterns in ancient illustrations ) contrasts so well with the color of the face, really making it stand out. It even has a feeling of the chinese culture with the long upper lip / mustache. This icon was used in my final piece, but instead I composed the face by hand and also the textures by hand.

Experimentations for Buddha in the Shrine
This was an experimentation to create the Buddhas body, i used a metal mesh material for the shape, and covered it with paper mache, create a paintable layer. The shiny texture is due to the a layer of latex that I added to see the effect it would give. I felt that this result was unsuccessful, and scrappy looking.
These heads were made from a moulding clay, which simply needs to be left out in the air in order to harden. I really like the expressions I managed to capture on both the different trials.
This was my first attempt at creating a buddhas face, trying to capture the "fatness" and humbleness, and all the qualities of a buddha. I really liked this process, it was enjoyable.

BUDDHA SHRINE, final major project
This is my final piece for my Final major project for my foundation year, i decided to recreate a buddhist shrine, using my own generated patterns and layout, and colours. However I also wanted to do sculpture for this project, so decided to create a buddha, from moulding clay, and covered it with a layer of copper foil. I found this outcome very successful, i like the shinyness achieved, and i also feel the purple velvet really works.

My band
This illustration was created in response to my love for music and playing live in front of an audience. The illustration was firstly drawn with fineliners and then perfected on photoshop, I find the 3 frame concept very successful. I also really like the color choice.
Wolfs play, as the mouth of the monster awaits
This illustration was done in response to the sentence " Wolfs play, as the mouth of the monster awaits". I liked how i referenced this sentence in a different context. I also like the borders of ink which i used, again this was done in my foundation year.
Stencil work, and paint rollers
I did this piece for foundation, i cut out stencils and used paint rollers to create the texture. I like the vibrancy of this piece, as it really shouts out to the viewer with boldness. I feel this was a successful experimentation, considering ive never done something like this before. I enjoyed the creation of this.
Inkblot experimentation
Similar to the Rorschach inkblot test, i experimented with ink, and folding the paper over, I felt that it resembled some sort of canine creature looking upwards, maybe even a goat. I really liked the result of this unexpected experimentation.
Comic Strip
This was a handmade comic strip in response to the phrases " Eyes open, with a hat on top, wolfs play as the mouth of the monster awaits, while socialising goes on beneath,BLACK EYES", again this was done for my foundation course. i used Water colors and colored pencils.
Sink Socially
This piece was done in my foundation course as a response to the sentences "Sink Socially" and " Eyes Open, as the mouth of the monster awaits". I feel it is quite abstract compared to what i usually do.
Dream Head
Just a random illustration i left i needed to add, has a very street art feel, due to the random elements. I like the use of colours in this one. Again, i did this drawing in fineliners and then processed it through Illustrator.
Adam the Lizard
I created this character in my foundation course using fineliners and scanning it into illustrator. I like cleanness of the character, and the sharpness of the lines. I made two different versions, one with scaly skin and another one with blue skin. Both the characters speak out the general vibe of "Adam" being foolish and slow.
